Aerofex developed a system for transporting race-horses by air. The collapsible air-stables utilize composites and cast aluminum to reduce weight and withstand the rigors of the air-freight environment. Their design makes them cost-effective to operate while providing the safety required to transport large animals by air. In addition to hardware development, the project involved gaining patent protection and FAA Supplemental Type Certificate approval for use on modern commercial transports.
